Ain't got no way to get over that mountain
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got no bridge for to cross that canyon
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got nobody to carry your soul home
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got no violet lilac bush to greet you in the morning
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got no flower sitting at your table
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got no silver studded starlight skyline to greet you in the evening
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got no golden guild guardian gold finch to bring your song back
Not one like mine
Not one like mine
Ain't got no way to get over that mountain
Not one like mine
Not one like mine

While riding on a train going fast
I fell asleep for to take a rest
My companion she kept her eyes on the aisle
Allowing me to drift and dream a while
Train's next destination had been New Orleans
It was on the other side of the world from where we had lived
We lived in the summers in the smaller towns
We lived in doors when the snows came down
Many a church bell had often rung
Threatening our friends that they'd never grow young
Though countless prophetic faces told us the times was near
None of them knowing us could think what could happen in a Year
Now in sounds, words, and pictures we spend most our time
Her eyes are on the pages; my mind is online
Many an obstacle were forced to cross
Never really feeling like we could ever get lost
We cared for many enemies and four friends
How glad am I to know now that I'll never have to see any of them again

She and I
03:19
|
|||
I was lightning
She was the fire
I struck first
She burned for a while
I was lightning
She was fire
Now our heat is covering the countryside
I was a tree
She was the soil
People climbed up me
They walked all over her
I was a tree
She was the soil
They're about to cut me down and plant a new one in her
I was the wall
She was the paint
I was peeling
Long before she came
I was the wall
She was the paint
She gave me a new coat and I'll never be the same
I was the picture
She was the frame
I was getting hung
She was broken again
I was the picture
She was the frame
Her glasses broke and no one could see me
I was the hammer
She was the nail
I was pounding her head
She didn't care
I was the hammer
She was the nail
I pulled her out and she was been like a tail
Now I am the moon
She is the star
I am shifting tides
She shines on
I am the moon
She is the star
You touch her you'll get burned but you can land on me for a while

I was shining my shoes with butter n oil my soles got slippery so I wrapped them in tin foil my girl walks in n saw them n asked me what was cooking.
I told her I was cooking souls.
Yeah I got a woman she's 5 feet short she laughs n screams hollers n snores she sits like a judge in a courtroom I guess she passed a verdict that we're good looking.
She was better looking than me tho. Prettiest girl you'll never see.
So I left my home didn't have no place to go walked around town n I saw a UFO it was before the snows came down must have been around 10 o'clock.
I didn't have my watch.
Then a Cat in a box jumps out at me he was a General carrying wounds from World War III I thought it was amazing what you can see walking on your feet around the block.
Name was General Patton n I took him to the Fallout shelter. Seemed like a good place to go.
Then I walked into the Doctor's office n they called the police n I told them they didn't know anything about Tesla Judas Marcozzi or Freedom of Speech MY thoughts were racing n they were betting on my horses.
They were all saying NEIGH!
Then in leather straps n metal clamps I was bound down my feet body hands they surrounded me with geeks wishing it was easier to own a Porsche.
Nice car for a psychotic Doctor. I think I'll get me one of those.
Now nuts, vegetables, fruits n beans is all I eat now I enjoy the milk n cheese coming from cows n if you asked me how chicken smells it's delicious!
Skin n all folks skin n all.
I once knew a man who'd eat trays of bacon in one gulp chew five steaks without cutting them up pours pork gravy over everything doesn't use a napkin he's vicious.
He's a real messy eater too. Watch out he don't eat you.
Now I'm like a bean stalk you can climb on me you can catch the clouds you can see the C but if you get up to the top just watch out for those Giants.
Everybody's blood smells English now.
I'm a talker too you can talk to me you can shoot the shit or the breeze but if you're a cop I wont talk to you unless you got a warrant.
Maybe not even then. I don't really like your kind. You take off your uniform n I'll take off mine.

Sand in My Eyes
03:45
|
|||
A shot was fired that did kill a man
A picture of his girl clutched in his hand
They gathered around him
saw their brother who died
Heard the dessert moans and the mountain's cries
They flew him home in a basket case
While his young wife cried unto his face
They put him under
Gathered by his sides
Heard the dessert moans and the mountain's cries
His young child age of six or five
Could never sleep ever since that time
Foreign her dreams
Daddy daddy she cries
Hears the dessert moans and the mountain's cries
The general sat back against the wall
Gazed at photographs lined along the hall
Took a stand
To go walk in the light
Heard the dessert moans and the mountain's cries
The fight goes on and many more do die
Nobody's wrong if no one is alive
And the Sides Shift Blind and Tired
To hear the dessert moans and the mountains cries
Hears the dessert moans and the mountains cries
Here's the dessert moans and the mountains cry
Hear the dessert moans and the mountains cry

It'd be nice if you would stand by me.
It'd feel nice if you'd hold my hand.
I want you to dance while I lead.
I want you to know that I understand.
Save the love you have in your heart for you and me alone.
Empty your sorrows; let the fear depart from your tone.
Love shouldn't be such a chore!
Be with me babe.
Be with me alone.
Be with me babe.
I'm the one you've been looking for babe.
I'm the one you've been looking for.
It'd be great if you would lift me up.
It'd feel great if we took to the skies.
I want you to hear heaven's call.
I want you to know that I'm not a bad guy.
Save the air your breath; don't speak too soon.
Don't moan "love"; I hear enough from the loons
singing on the grassy shore.
It'd be fine if you would lay one me.
It'd feel fine if we could only lay down.
I want you to show your face.
I want you to take off that crown.
Save the receipt for the prices you have paid.
Let us return them all if they will fit in this bag.
They will never close this store!

Peanut wont you leave your shell?
Peanut wont you leave your shell?
I know that cracker is gone to give you Hell.
Sugar wont you melt for me?
Sugar wont you melt for me?
I know you don't drink coffee but I can be your cup of tea
Honey wont you be in my spoon?
Honey wont you be in my spoon?
I know you're so sweet I can always make room
Pumpkin butter I can warm your bread
Pumpkin butter I can warm your bread
I know with a bun in the oven what it'd do to your head

Help Me Blues
03:26
|
|||
How do you know
Which way to go?
Running down that summer path
Taking life way too fast
I don't know where I should go
Help Me
You were the one
Brought out my sun
Now I am cold and dead
Laying in your bed
Now I have to go
Finish this stroll
You know it's been so great
I just had to get away

Waiting Waters
06:22
|
|||
Can't stop unless you're there on the parking break baby
Can't talk about what's been running from my mind lately
Mad barks the sounds come running from the gunning of the needy
Waiting waters
2 Waiting waters
Waiting water will not bring you down
Waiting water don't let nobody hit the ground
Tan box the sighs will make you sick inside
For Ten bucks will get him the heady wine
Then 10 blocks until I get you to be all mine
Gone dark the harmonies are bells I find
Purple martin perched atop a street sign
Long talk to find out I've been rhymed
Don't let nobody nobody nobody hit the ground

Vincent Mische New London, Minnesota
I'm a songwriter. I write lyrically astute songs that mean something to me. My age doesn't matter to me, and if it matters to you, I am 25 years old. The town I live in doesn't matter to you, but it matters to me, and it is called Willmar. My state is good. Minnesota is home to me. Of course other people lived in Minnesota, and I don't know them. If I knew somebody, it wouldn't matter... ... more
